Oneiro Junior Game Project

Oneiro is a junior game project developed over an twelve month period by five programmers and one artist for three months. Required to model real-world physics, the project is a 3D platformer where players travel between two distinctly different worlds to collect sheep. Each world has its own gravity field, which will pull the player in as the player reaches higher elevations in the terrain.

Oneiro boasts impressive graphics, emergent AI behaviors, and a unique dream-like feel. I am extremely proud of how this project turned out and I feel I learned the most about managing a team more on this project than any other.

Producer Responsibilities:
  • Used SCRUM to organize tasks
  • Presented game at each milestone throughout the project
  • Organized, ran, and compiled results for weekly focus tests
Programmer Responsibilities:
  • Server/client architecture for LAN play with reliable UDP and join in progress
  • Finite state machine system for changing and updating game states
  • Player object
  • Game logic code
  • Power ups
  • Keyboard and mouse input

Gridiron Tactics Sophomore Game Project

Gridiron Tactics is an eight month sophomore game project. Required to be 2D, the game is a side-scrolling football match with RPG elements. Players choose which adorable team to play as, and use that team's skills to win the match. Gridiron Tactics was designed so that people who didn't understand football could pick it up and play. With slightly turn based gameplay, players can watch each play execute and have a clear understanding of what is going on.

Producer Responsibilities:
  • Managed a team of four programmers
  • Used Waterfall methodologies for organizing tasks
  • Compiled team's tasks into weekly reports
  • Presented game at milestones
Programmer Responsibilities:
  • 2D physics engine
  • Gameplay elements
  • File I/O system for player stats
  • Main player object
  • Menus and UI elements

Gridiron Tactics was featured in 1up.com's 101 Free Games 2008 feature!
